Nana Kweku Brenu designer of 1981 recently debuted his 2nd collection called "layers". 1981 is a contemporary modern brand specially crafted and tailored to meet the discerning tastes of today's modern woman. This is new collection is a very modern, effortless, sophisticated and wearable collection. I love African designers that use other fabrics other than African print. JUST IN:MINA EVANS FINURA LOOKBOOK


Finura; Spanish for “finesse” is the name of the capsule collection unveiled at the inaugural Glitz Africa Fashion Week 2012 consisting of classic red carpet dresses and versatile separates in statement colours of coral, black, white, grey and navy with the signature fringe beading and embellishments in key areas.

“With this capsule collection, the aim was to mature the Mina Evans woman, providing her with versatile pieces for different occasions in her life” stated the creative director, Mina Evans-Anfom.

LOOKBOOK: MALAIKA DESIGN UNVEILS NEW COLLECTION

Germany based designers Adwoa Ode-Dombrowe & Rosemary Dede from Malaika designs recently unveils their latest collection.  In case you missed it  I  introduced them  here and posted the collection before this one here.  My favorite piece is without question the 2 pieces Bikini even though it might look horrible on me .  African print swimsuits are really hot this summer .  Check out the full collection below and  tell what you think about it .

N'KYA DESIGNS LAUNCHES IN GHANA

N’kya Designs has launched itself in Ghana through the showcasing of two collections; Bedazzled and Dawn. Bedazzled is an existing collection which has been brought over from London and updated to fit the new surroundings. It will feature bold reds, blues and yellows as well as embellishments for maximum impact. Dawn is an entirely new collection, symbolizing a new phase or rebirth of N’kya Designs. Lace detailing is key to most pieces as well as the signature combination of wax print fabrics with other textures.

Akua Serwaa-Sarfo is a Ghanaian-born aspiring fashion designer, producing apparel for women and accessories for women and men. . She is a full time student (Heath Science) and a part-time designer.She taught Herself how to sew June 2009 and have designed and sewed every piece of IyZaiah’s first collection.

AFRICAN FASHION DESIGNERS :Danielle and Chantelle Piper

Danielle and Chantelle Piper  are twin  African fashion designers , models and socialites. They are West African (Ghana)and West Indian. They have appeared on a number of major television shows such as the Rachael Ray Show, NBC’s the Today Show, and an MTV commercial for Snickers. They have also graced the front cover of League Magazine and David & Young Magazine. Danielle launched her fashion line named Kastle Designs. The collection consists of eye-catching cocktail and evening dresses, incorporating fabrics such as, chiffon, silk charmeuse, satin, beaded and embroidered fabrics. Highlighted as one to watch, Danielle has had editorials in Women’s Wear Daily, Fashion Manuscript, and Textile World. She has also worked alongside a number of notable fashion designers including couture designer Maggie Norris and Marchesa’s own Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman.
