Sev*nfold is a brand new women's streetwear that launched last summer in London. The first collection called "homesweethome" is a 3 pieces bold T-shirts made from high quality ethically sourced cotton. The collection is inspired by the bright colors and patterns of West Africa mixed with the attitude and style of cosmopolitan Britain. The street wear industry is a very male dominated one and I love the fact that this line is by a woman made for women. African tees: Jamhuri Wear
Jamhuri wear started in New York City in 2003 as a graphic tee shirt line. Jamhuri Wear's logo and name are inspired by the language and landscape of the continent that the brand strives to represent in the clothing world. The word "Jamhuri" translates from Swahili to mean "Republic" or "Free State." It describes the 53 vast nations of the company’s main focus. The company’s primary mission is to promote pride and empower the youth of Africa, playing a proactive part in the future image of "Mama Africa." Their past collections have showcased a mix between the contemporary and the traditional aspects of African society, heritage and cultures. Included in the collection is the "Badge of Honor" – a piece that evokes a Swahili prayer (and Kenyan national anthem) for peace that promotes tranquility and the growth of a nation. The "Tusker t-shirt" is a nostalgic piece that pays homage to the world-renowned African brew, while the "logo tee" bears the fiery, roaring red lion logo that represents all that is Jamhuri Wear - swagger, pride and power!
The clothing line has recently grown to include custom cutting-edge outerwear pieces such as hoodies and crewnecks. Propelling it to be named Africa’s premiere street wear line, you can even find privately-owned buses (matatu's) in African Capitals toting the logo on their colorful graffiti-painted exteriors, previously reserved for mainstream brands like Nike, Bathing Ape and American entertainers.

African tees: Kayobi clothing
Kwabena Boateng is the designer of Kayobi clothing .I not only love the designs but the way they took these wonderful pictures. I dont know about you guys but most of the time for me to buy something I have to relate to it first . LearN a bit about Kwabena Boateng through his own words:
I am a child of the early 80s and my inspiration comes from my childhood in Africa - 3rd born to Ghanaian parents of 7 boys and no girls. I spent formative years (baby - until 22) in Ghana. I have always liked drawing and scribbling designs and when growing up would always turn my note books into pieces of art whilst in class - this gift of creativity was rekindled during my university years when I taught my self how to paint first on discarded wood and eventually onto t - shirts for friends and university societies such as the Hip Hop society. The response was great and this gave me the conviction that designing was a financially viable enterprise. Upon graduation I planned on how I would set up my clothing line with hours of reading online and finding out how other people had started up - this was not easy because most people will not be forthcoming and helpful with information such as how to screen print t - shirts. I eventually made my first t shirt on the 08/08/08 and as the say the rest is in progress.
