CIAAFRIQUE FASHIONISTA OF THE WEEK: JACQUE CHINYERE AMADI

 Name: Jacque Chinyere Amadi

Country: Nigeria

Favorite designer: I don't wear designer clothes because they're out of my price range but I really admire Brooklyn Circus and Luella.

What is your style ? My style is either very girly or somewhat masculine. In the summer/spring I wear lace, bows, pink, and floral...but come fall/winter I wear suits and bow-ties. The only thing that's constant is my obsession with oxfords and my love for all things high-waisted!

Something you will never wear: I would never wear Doc Martens. I think they're cute on other people, just not me!

Where do you shop? I shop at Forever 21, Amazon.com (for shoes), and the Salvation Army!

Heels or Flats? Heels

Ciaafrique fashionista of the week:Lisa Bisa

Name: Lisa Bisa

Country: US by way of Jamaica

Favorite Designer: This is absolute cruelty for a fashionista on a budget because these designers aren't cheap... but my fav designers that I fantasize about include Balmain, Rachael Roy, Azzedine Alaïa, Elie Saab, Balenciaga, Costume National, Tom Ford (Autumn/Winter 2011 Women’s Collection), Bill Blass and Alexandre Vauthier. I also like DKNY, Betsey Johnson, and many others.

What is your style? If given the funds and the opportunity, I could seriously wear couture and not feel over dressed for any occasion because I love the shapes and risk that the designers take to create each garment. But since we’re talking about my current personal style (lol) I would have to say that it truly changes given the occasion ranging from glam rock to cute and casual. But most of all I love colour! Before colour blocking was a trend I was wearing it! Oh and I also love vintage!

Ciaafrique fashionista of the Week : Bee AkA Chic Therapy

Name: Bee aka Chic Therapy
Country: USA
What is your style: I don’t think I have one style; I really am all over the place. My inspiration mostly comes from color and I wear them really bright. I also love loud and bold prints and so I wear tons of African print. Right now, I love silks and chiffon and I am dying to add some great pieces to my closet. As much as I like getting dolled up, I think comfort is key (minus heels-lol), and so I am into the whole blazer/leggings look.
Something you will never wear: Sunglasses, they look horrid on me.
Favorite Designers: Not that I own any of their pieces, but I love Rachel Roy (loves the understated elegance of her pieces), Lanre Da Silva (she’s been a favorite of mine for a long time), Betsey Johnson (her pieces are so fun and girly), Dianne Von Frustenberg, Marc Jacobs & Ituen Basi
Heels or flatsThat’s a tough one. It really depends on the occasion.  I recently vowed to stop buying high heels. I however, still love them; most of my heels are about 4- 6 inches. I also love my flats and I think I own all colors you can possibly think of.
