DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: Attollé Clothiers


According to their website, Attollé Clothiers was launched in 2002 in Lagos Nigeria, by Bookey Itoandon who schooled and graduated as a lawyer in 2001 from the Nigerian Law School. Her love for fashion, sketching and fabric selection led her to follow a career in fashion. Her collection was featured for the first time in 2012 at the AFWNY (African Fashion week New York). The Attollé collection received an outstanding review that led to an invitation for her to showcase for the second time in 2013.Bookey has become consistent with her vision to make every woman look elegant regardless of color, size and shape as she continues to develop bold and stunning pieces for all. I fell in love with this brand primarily because of the great styling of the items.   Maryzo Designs is an African fashion line with a modern twist that was launched back in 2010 by Sierra Leonean designer Amizo.They specialize in casual wear, evening wear, work wear, africana, wedding dresses, couture, embroidery kids wear and accessories. MontRosee is a clothing label that is specifically designed  for women with style. The label was founded in spring 2011 by two best friends stylist Daniele Ayele and Yemi Sofidiya . Both ladies love fashion and decided two fashionable minds are better than one. MontRosee is a versatile label with a fusion between Afro-modern, vintage, classic, and chic. Spotted these cute African print leggings a few days ago on pinterest and I wanted to to find out you made them. I have seen a lot of African leggings before but nothing like these babies. So cute !!!!. There are called the "SasaWa Leggings" and are made by Constance Ama Owusuwaah designer of the Wusuwaah clothing line . LOOKBOOK:A STORY OF JUSTAPOSITION FROM DELABIQUE

Juxtaposition is a term used to describe sharp contrast or opposites and this is exactly what this collection represents.The element of juxtaposition is in the fabrics used to create our most recent collection. The collection comprises of ankara, European print and solid colours. By using all three contrasting fabrics and texture in just one collection, we have been able to create a unified theme which is; powerful dressing. This collection is targeted at the opinionated woman who knows what she wants and is not afraid to combine an eclectic look that fits her powerful and unique personality. AFRICAN FASHION DESIGNER: MARIE-CHANCE GALLIMONI


 Congolese designer Marie-Chance Gallimoni is the creative mind behind 'Chancie Style'. 
Since an early age she has always been influenced by the creative arts. In 2005 she went on to study fashion and clothing, and after achieving her qualification at Southgate College in 2008, she dedicated the following year towards developing her craft.One of her aims has always been to create designs that incorporate her African origins into the more western, modern style of fashion; an aim she has achieved, and in doing so was able to find opportunities to showcase her first two collections, which successfully graced the catwalk across various shows in the UK.

Deola Kamson is the brain behind the AFRICAN fashion label ‘Delabique’ which is fast gaining grounds in the industry with their exquisite designs.Her adoring ‘bin-bag’ collection worn by all the thirty contestants in the grand finale of the 2010 edition of the Most beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant which held in May, showcased her ingenuity. Under her magic wand for the first time ever, the ‘Style Sketch for DaViva’ a regular feature in Genevieve magazine, literately came alive in the July 2010 edition of the magazine.

Ogeyinka 2011, meaning surrounded by beauty and style in Yoruba, is the new collection from the House of Makeda, the iconic afrocentric design house by jazz singer Teni. House of Makeda was established two years ago in Lagos, Nigeria and is truly unique in African fashion, with a warm, earthy 2600 square foot flagship space in Lagos, where artistic director Teni also performs with her ten piece band the Afro-Renaissance.
