HEAD TO TOE FLAWLESS , SOLANGE KNOWLES IN MAKI OH
My wish finally came true when I saw solange finally showing some love to one of Africa's greatest fashion houses Nigerian label Maki oh.The star was the DJ of the night at the Splendid Soho Store opening party in New York City a few days ago. Remember a few months ago I made a post titled My shameless tweets to Solange Knowles where I wrote that I will be tweeting solange Knowles for a month to wear the work from African designers. I mean you should know by now that she is one of my friends ( in my head of course)and she loves wearing African print. I tweeted her just a few times because I did not want to be labeled as a stalker .I never actually thought that she was going to go for Maki oh. This look is a bit risqué (skirt) for me but I think she looks beautiful in it.

Two is always better than one. She also wore this printed blouse from Maki oh in the same week . To be honest I did not like this look at all . There is just something not quite right about it.
So which look works for you ? the first or second?

When it comes to shoes I love mine bright, bold, and and confortable. Honestly I am a flats gal. There are too reasons why I dont work well with High heels. WASHINGTON ROBERTS AUTUMN/WINTER 2012 PRESENTATION

Washington Roberts introduced his Autumn/Winter 2012 collection at dark yet romantic structure among Manhattan’s fashion district, the Bryant Park Hotel a few days ago . A native of Lagos, Nigeria, Roberts’ family history in fashion has played an integral part in his development as a designer. The romantic yet dark setting of the hotel plays to the raw textures and metallics of this upcoming collection. Imagine Michael Jackson circa the 1980’s plated leathers, lustrous twills, intense hardware, studded accessories, and color blocking. All unique characteristics that Roberts hopes to portray through his use of metallic brocades, plush leathers, raw silk tweeds, and silk metallics. Through use of dimensional layering, angled tailoring, and mix mashing of fabric, this collection portrays the same level of edge and sophistication reminiscent of the King of Pop. The Washington Roberts collection is designed for the refined woman, who appreciates an easy transition from day to night.

The team of Virgos lounge broke the news a few days ago that they will now be available at Topshop. This is certainly good news for any designer and also good news for the consumers who will be able to acquire their fave line in store. I have followed virgos lounge growth since the very beginning I have to say they make my little heart melt every time they come up with a new collection. This is the 2012 S/S collection which will be available for sale on April 5th of their site and launched at Topshop's flagship store in Oxford Circus in London on the the 29th of April.
