According to their website, Attollé Clothiers was launched in 2002 in Lagos Nigeria, by Bookey Itoandon who schooled and graduated as a lawyer in 2001 from the Nigerian Law School. Her love for fashion, sketching and fabric selection led her to follow a career in fashion. Her collection was featured for the first time in 2012 at the AFWNY (African Fashion week New York). The Attollé collection received an outstanding review that led to an invitation for her to showcase for the second time in 2013.Bookey has become consistent with her vision to make every woman look elegant regardless of color, size and shape as she continues to develop bold and stunning pieces for all. IamISIGO IS BACK WITH A NEW A/W 14 COLLECTION "11 VOLTAIRE"
After a 2 year hiatus, Paris based womenswear brand, iamISIGO, debuts its autumn/winter 13/14 collection.The collection, ‘11 Voltaire’, was inspired by the designer’s fascination with universal laws in the moral world that are yet to be discovered in the physical world. According to the designer, Bubu Ogisi, the ’11 Voltaire’ collection was named after the arrondissement where the designer lived in Paris as well the celebrated French philosopher, Voltaire, who believed & promoted religious tolerance, freedom of expression and the separation of church and state.The collection comprises mainly of hand-painted pieces with light fabrics ranging from satin to woven crepes, semi-sheer fabrics (organza, chiffon) to metallic cotton. McMeka is a Lagos Based Nigerian Menswear Design Label which solely focus on Bespoke Tailoring. Established in 2011, by the Young Creative Director; Rodney Emeka, whose focus is in Re-defining Masculinity, the brand has flourished to greater heights.
The McMeka Fall/Winter 2013/14 collection was inspired by the Wiz Khalifah's video; "Work Hard Play Hard". Focus is given to a man who is stylish yet hard-working. He understands the essence of great dressing in the business world. He is not just a hard worker but also a great dresser. Pieces from this collection emphasizes the body line; made to fit and sits comfortably on the body. The collection is well defined of pure essence of male masculinity and intricate a mix of minimalism and class. Tuxedo with one rows of button, plaid trousers, detailed coats, intriguingly elegant suits, all these wear create the trademark for this collection with classy yet ostentatious design. Meet 23 years old law student Anthonia Nkem Emegha the designer behind Ms Ray and also the current title holder of Miss Africa Netherlands. During her reign as Miss Africa Netherlands her passion for fashion started to grow. With her love for African fabric she decided to start what she always loved to do which is designing. In january 2012 she finally launched her clothing line called Ms.Ray Couture dedicated to her late father Mr Raymond. APRIL2ND is a fashion label specializing in ready-to-wear and bespoke collection. The line was founded by Nigerian designer Ty, who has been a personal shopper since high school. Ty studied fashion design at Kingston University, and also attended fashion courses at Fashion and Textile Museum.The first collection was launched in September 2012 during London Fashion Week at Fashions Finest. Nigerian luxury design house Jewel by Lisa introduced their latest collection at the MTN Lagos Fashion & Design Week 2012. I am a big fan of Jewel by Lisa and they have released amazing collections in the past but this is not one of my favorite ones. The collection is very coherent and well executed but I am just not feeling the prints. It looks sad , but way better than some other collections I have seen on the same runway.
