I have never seen anything like the 'Bag on Bag" twinset before. When I saw this I was like what the F*** is this . To tell you the truth I don't know whether to like this or hate it. Its cute in his own little way but just weird.  I saw this on the Blonde Salad 's blog and she is working it alright. Is this a new trend ? I am not sure ,we have to wait and see . All I know is if you wear this to the market in Mali you will come back with nothing lol. So here is the question for you all

I saw these cute bags yesterday on Afrolectic and after a few clicks I found these pics from their facebook page. This is the work of  Australian based designer Wanyika Mshila(Kenyan). According to their site FroQ AfriQ was born from a marriage of African culture with western style.Their signature items are sophisticated, elegant and classic hand crafted leather bags and accessories, designed and made in Australia.

I first saw the  work of these 2 lovely ladies when they were featured on one of my favorite blog Fashion Junkii . Baganli Jangali is  an accessories  line based in Sidney, Australia and is run by two Kenyans. Their line consist of Handbags , belts and many other accessories. According to their facebook page the  Majority of their work  are artistically designed and handmade in Australia using traditional African fabrics combined with quality genuine leather and other exciting materials to create a contemporary look but still preserve a piece of African textile history. Below are a few scans of their latest collection. 

Etsy is one of my favorite stores. As you may know everything sold on the website is handmade. The website has a lot of African inspired clothing and handbags and also a lot  things made with African Fabrics. Below are the pictures of some dresses that I thought was worth mentioning .The dresses are made by SewdivineinLV. Hello Afronistas,
I hope you are all doing Great. I just want to point out one thing before I introduce you to today great designer. A few weeks ago I decided to use the word Afronistas instead of Afro fashionistas. Maybe you have not noticed but in case you did let me know if you like the word Afronistas better. That being said let's talk about my latest African designer. Her name is Juliet Pearl and she is the brain behind Ethnic collection . According to Juliet she studied art and design in college and changed her course to do fashion at the London College of Fashion. . Not long After college Juliet started her own business and since then things have been doing great for her. She designs everything from womenswear, menswear, fashion accessories including bags, belts, shoes, hair accessories and a whole lot more. As women we always tend to get rid our shoes and bags away after about two years. Juliet came up with an idea to actually redesign those shoes and bags for you,so why buy new if you can change the old one to new. I hope all of you are having a very nice day. For those of you don t know me I got to tell you something about myself. Like maybe most women I am obsessed with handbags and today I have the pleasure to introduce you one of my favorite african accessory designer her name is Amina Hassan From Nigeria. I had the pleasure to ask her some questions recently . she is extremely talented and the designer to look for in the caming years.

Ciaa: what is the concept behind your designs?
Amina: Passion and a lot of work! But first, function. In other words what will the proposed bag be used for? Shape, structure are drawn out and a plan for materials to be used in terms of accessories, dye colour is done. Next work flow to determine step by step of putting the bag together then prototype is made following the work flow, corrections and alterations if any need be are made and then work starts on the bag.
