African designers at the 2011 London fashion Week : Bunmi Koko
the stand out piece of this collection
Nigerian/British label Bunmi Koko Unveils their latest collection at the london fashion week themed "Kaleidoscopia ". The collection featured a variety of bold colors, fabrics , print and yet all blend in together. Since its launch in 2009 ,We've seen Bunmi Koko pushing the envelope one collection after the other . Although I was not present at the show one of my dear friend was and she told me that it was a real standing ovation .

Swahili Fashion week Nov-4th to the 9th 2009

I hope you are all having a great afternoon , I know I am because i am on vacation for the next days . I would like all of you to know that the Swahili fashion week is going on right now .
An eclectic mix of Swahili culture ensconced with chic style; Swahili Fashion week is the dawn of a new era. Initiating a dynamic and promising platform for the fashion industry in Tanzania, the Swahili Fashion Week is a coming together of talented designers from across the country under one stand to showcase their unique and truly African creations. This is not only a potential point for existing designers but also an opportune moment for upcoming aspiring designers in the country. What's more? This event be at par with globally acclaimed fashion weeks celebrating the spirit of the Swahili Fashion week truly unveiling what makes Africa beautiful.Here is the list of designers participating on the show :

Adama Paris la Princesse de la mode senegalaise
Adama Paris
Adama Amanda Ndiaye is the name of the young woman behind the promising Adama Paris label.Born in Kinshasa (ex Zaïre) in 1976 but of Senegalese origin, Adama epitomizes the multicultural fashion designer of the new millenium.With parents belonging to the diplomatic corps, she grew up in different world capitals. Exposed to cosmopolitan fashions, she began to forge her own style from the very beginning.Even though she makes her home in Paris, she travels frequently between the french capitals, New York, Brazil and Senegal. Adama is also the Creative mind behind Dakar fashion week that took place some weeks ago . Designers came from Paris , Cameroon ,South Africa, Ivory coast, Morocco to name a few. Below are some pictures that highlighted the fashion week. Ghana Fashion week end
I hope you are all having a very nice weekend ! Its very nice in Toronto today hopefully it will stay like that next week . Anyways like usual the great fashion shows in Africa always passes by unnoticed. I am Guilty this time around as well for not putting the words out there about the Ghana Fashion week end that took place about 1 month Ago . This was a 4 days event and was one of the biggest ever organized by Exopa in Ghana. Exopa is Ghana’s most respected and largest modeling agency.This year's event features 30 Designers around the globe, 40 Exopa models from Europe, the Americas, Asia plus 60 of the finest from Africa.
