TINA LOBONDI S/S COLLECTION 2013 LIMITED COLLECTION "UPTOWN AFRICA"

Congolese born, London based Womenswear designer Tina Lodondi just released her new Spring/summer collection. Tina designs are very classic and chic. The collection has everything from blazers, to dresses, skirts and shirts so we can all definitely find something we like. Honestly I am still having a hard time choosing my fave piece. I reached out to Tina to find out what was the inspiration behind this beautiful collection here is what she has to say:

"I wanted to create a look for the new generation of girls and women who wants to embrace the African prints. It is chic and feminine, with girls cuts. I observed what the girls wore in the Chelsea area of London and I thought they were missing some colours...I really wanted this collection to follow on the last one and to create a brand identity." OUTFIT POST : THE CECE DRESS

african fashion dresses
The weather was just beautiful the last couple of days in Toronto. I won this dress from a giveaway a while back but never got the chance to wear it. Its from Jessique designs  maybe you might remember my post about their line here.  The dress fitted beautifully and because it was  little cold I threw in my little  blue Cobalt blazer. Oh! I almost forgot to mention my Fulani earrings. The first thing I did when I went back home last month was to get myself 3 sets of Fulani earrings ( small , medium, and big). Call me crazy but I really love me some earrings.  I thought this was also a great way to wear you little african print dress to work. To be a little safe you can use a black blazer instead of blue. Here is what i am wearing.

Ciaafrique fashionista of the Week : Bee AkA Chic Therapy

Name: Bee aka Chic Therapy
Country: USA
What is your style: I don’t think I have one style; I really am all over the place. My inspiration mostly comes from color and I wear them really bright. I also love loud and bold prints and so I wear tons of African print. Right now, I love silks and chiffon and I am dying to add some great pieces to my closet. As much as I like getting dolled up, I think comfort is key (minus heels-lol), and so I am into the whole blazer/leggings look.
Something you will never wear: Sunglasses, they look horrid on me.
Favorite Designers: Not that I own any of their pieces, but I love Rachel Roy (loves the understated elegance of her pieces), Lanre Da Silva (she’s been a favorite of mine for a long time), Betsey Johnson (her pieces are so fun and girly), Dianne Von Frustenberg, Marc Jacobs & Ituen Basi
Heels or flatsThat’s a tough one. It really depends on the occasion.  I recently vowed to stop buying high heels. I however, still love them; most of my heels are about 4- 6 inches. I also love my flats and I think I own all colors you can possibly think of.
