Let's get to know a bit about Akebehi and her line.

First of all let me start by saying that your line is fantastic,Tell us about your fashion background, how you got started, why you got into jewelry Designs?
Thank you so much.My name is Akebehi Kpolo and I am the designer of the jewelry brand called
Ohiri Kréation which was established in August 2011. I have always been fascinated by Creation and Fashion in general. Young, l used to draw my own clothes, to make jewels, rings, and other accessories for the members of my family and some close friends... I remember the first time I created a jewel, It was on my 9th birthday. My mother had not found the necklace I wanted so I decided to make it by myself. I like creating things because that gives me the felling of having my own world and being unique.Really, the creation of my brand is the achievement of a child’s dream!Ohiri Kréation, is a jewelry brand inspired by the Akan‘s world, (Ethnic group in West Africa living in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana). We propose hand-made jewels. A wide choice of necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings available on limited edition or made on request. A tribute to the African cultural diversity.

How hard was it to get started?
One day I said to my parents “You want me to have a MBA in Economics. I will have it for you but then I will start my own creation. I want to be a designer”. So when I said last august I want
to launch my jewelry  brand they naturally said okay! I thank God for giving me parents like them.
Because the most important contribution in this kind of project is the support of people. Not
only a financial support. We also need sentimental support!”

Where do you see your line in the Next 5 years?
In 5 years? I see myself and my brand in my shop on 5th Avenue in NYC! More seriously, my hope
is to work with designers all around the world and promote the African cultural diversity.

What is your price range and where can we buy your products.
The idea of Ohiri Kréation is to propose creations in limited edition but affordable for everyone.
You can buy a basic necklace (the Solo black or transparent) at 20 Euros for example. I currently based in France, Paris but we ship everywhere. Please  have a look at our collection by visiting us at www.ohirikreation.com
