CELEBRITIES IN AFRICAN PRINT: Teyana Taylor wears Adama Paris for Vibe photo shoot
When I first saw the pictures for this photo shoot a few weeks ago I was more focused on the lamb piece Teyana was wearing not knowing then that this jumpsuit was made by an actual African designer.Adama N'diaye is the name of the designer so in case you are not familiar with her work I have Spotlighted her a while back .( check it here)BTW she is from Senegal.....

Interview with Eva Gabarra
I had the privilege and honor to chat a bit with the Amazing Eva Gabarra Via Facebook a couple days ago. She agreed to take same time off her busy schedule to respond to some questions for me.Eva is currently getting ready for the Labo Ethik in Paris. Adama Paris la Princesse de la mode senegalaise
Adama Paris
Adama Amanda Ndiaye is the name of the young woman behind the promising Adama Paris label.Born in Kinshasa (ex Zaïre) in 1976 but of Senegalese origin, Adama epitomizes the multicultural fashion designer of the new millenium.With parents belonging to the diplomatic corps, she grew up in different world capitals. Exposed to cosmopolitan fashions, she began to forge her own style from the very beginning.Even though she makes her home in Paris, she travels frequently between the french capitals, New York, Brazil and Senegal. Adama is also the Creative mind behind Dakar fashion week that took place some weeks ago . Designers came from Paris , Cameroon ,South Africa, Ivory coast, Morocco to name a few. AFRICAN FASHION DESIGNER : Sadio Bee
These are some Designs of the 2008 collection of the great Senegalese designer Sadio Bee
One thing that I love about having my clothes made in Africa is that you can customize to any extent. You choose the fabric you like and any kind of designs .It is a big shame that even though these people are talented they are not recognized as such. The question that is still bothering me is that why do we need to be in Europe or North America to be recognized as a designer? what ever happened to the young talent that actually make the clothes for our mothers? OH WELL !!!!!

I could not help but notice that lot of our African sisters are ripping the fashion runway these days , so i decided to put up pictures of some of them. Have fun and remember you can became whatever you want in life if you work hard like these ladies.
Alek Wek (Sudan)
Alek is the supermodel from Sudan who started her modeling career when she was 18 years old. she worked for Victoria's secret,clinique, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein and the list goes on. Along the way Alek started her own designer handbag line called "Wek 1933". Once Again this shows us that you don t have to be light skin ,and beautiful to follow your dream or became a model. She was nominated as the Face of Africa 10 years ago since then she has worked for big companies like Victoria secret, advertised for L'oreal Paris, Macy's ,Banana republic,Express and ripped the runway for John Galliano, Ralph Lauren and Giorgio Armani. She is really the face of Africa because you see her everywhere you go. According to bellasugar interview Aminata ,she was born in Senegal and then moved to Paris. she is 5''9 has ripped the runways of Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier, Lanvin and appeared in magazines such as Vogue Germany.
Tiguida Sissoko(Mali)

Tiguida is a young Malian girl that is currently ripping the runway in Paris. She is very beautiful and young.She was featured in many magazines in Paris.( do your thing girl!!!!!)
Ajuma Nasanyana
she is the very edgy girl form Kenya that debuted her modeling career by winning the Miss tourism Kenya in 2003. she has ripped the runway of the new york fashion week , Italian fashion week and course Paris. you can learn more about her by going on her page.
