LOOKBOOK: VIV LA RESISTANCE "KALEIDOSCOPE "A/W 2012 COLLECTION
I have been eyeing the work of Nigerian designer Mo Alatise for a while now. Can you believe that this is the first time I am actually featuring the Viv la resistance on ciaafrique? Shocking I know. I have seen a few Nigerian celebs working her pieces on carpet before and was I was very happy to receive their latest collection a few days ago. You might also remember this collection from the Arise fashion week in Lagos last year.
"The Viv La Resistance woman is Mysterious, Sexy, Confident, Timeless, and a Head Turner
wherever she goes."
When ask what was the inspiration behind the collection here is what Mo had to say :
'A Trip’ came from the marrying of a series of visual and physical stimulants and a need for a new medium of expression, born out of necessity. The Theme for the Collection came as a step-like process, where one stimulant birthed the other. The main Inspiration behind the Collection came from the works of one of my favorite graffiti artist and film maker, MR BRAINWASH, Having experimented with graffiti myself at a younger age, I have always been fascinated by the merging of paint unto textured surfaces, color and grit."

OUTFIT POST : THE CECE DRESS
The weather was just beautiful the last couple of days in Toronto. I won this dress from a giveaway a while back but never got the chance to wear it. Its from Jessique designs maybe you might remember my post about their line here. The dress fitted beautifully and because it was little cold I threw in my little blue Cobalt blazer. Oh! I almost forgot to mention my Fulani earrings. The first thing I did when I went back home last month was to get myself 3 sets of Fulani earrings ( small , medium, and big). Call me crazy but I really love me some earrings. I thought this was also a great way to wear you little african print dress to work. To be a little safe you can use a black blazer instead of blue. Here is what i am wearing.
