LOOKBOOK: SIKA DESIGNS S/S 2012 LABYRINTH COLLECTION
The Ghanaian label Sika designs recently released their new S/S 2012 collection named Labyrinth. Since 2006 Phyllis Taylor has been really consistent with her designs .There are a few signature pieces we can identify in every collection she released but to be honest with you I am starting to get bored with the designs. It almost feel like its the same clothes over and over again in different fabrics. I also wish they had bigger sizes to cater to us curvy girls. Don't get me wrong I still love what I see because among hundreds Sika designs is one of the best African fashion brands out there I just want to see more from them ..

LOOKBOOK: EDITALO DESIGNS S/S 2012 COLLECTION
Introducing for the first time on ciaafrique Nigerian/American designer Olatide Adeniyi. Olatide is the head designer of Editalo designs which was launched in 2009.She recently showcased her work during the African fashion week in New york and even made it to the front page of the style section of the Washington post last summer.
She describes her new spring/summer collection as
"Playful, flirty and fun with a hint of subtle glamour".
The collection stays true to Editalo’s style making use of high waistlines and full skirts incorporating traditional fabrics with modern-day silhouettes. The first 2 dresses above are definitely my favorite. Saturday, March 24, 2012
SPOTTED: GIULIANA RANCIC IN AN AFRICAN PRINT DRESS
Fashion Police and E news presenter Giuliana Rancic wore one of the H&M and Marni collabo dress during a shooting of fashion police a few days ago. I wonder if any of you fashionistas got your hands on any of the dresses. I personally did not like their print choice. They could have chosen a more vibrant print.
So what do you think of Giuliana's dress?

“I’ve styled 10 looks with Target for the bold girl on the move. She’s cultured and travels, everywhere from St. Barts to Dubai. There’s a lot of global influence in these outfits, including my signature punctuation piece—the turban. This collection is electric. The looks are all about energy and using your imagination. REAL LIFE: WHAT REALLY HAPPENED ON THE 2ND DAY OF ARISE MAGAZINE FASHION WEEK IN LAGOS?
Nairoby Matos – Arise Magazine Issue 15 |
- Why we have yet to hear from the Arise Magazine team? My guess is they were not expecting something like this to happen. But nonetheless by now their Pr should have released a statement to let us know what's happening.
- Why the F....k that model had to open her mouth to tell someone else what how much she is making off the show ? Does she know about privacy. I guess she must be feeling really bad right now and might never get invited back to the show .
- Why the F....k local models think they should be making the same as others? I mean its obvious that models don't make the same for the same gig. Naomi Campbell does not make same as other models even though they do the same job. No one is irreplaceable so if you don't want to do the job someone else will do it. They should be paid fairly but it up to every model to negotiate their own contract.
